Canton gets new swings
There's a new addition at the War Memorial Park in Canton.
It was announced at the Canton Borough Council meeting this week that the new swing set has been installed by the street department.
The wood carpet for the swing set will be ordered in the spring, and the seats will be stored during the winter months, according to the recreation report delivered by council member Dianna Thompson.
It was also noted that the tennis courts and fencing piece are complete and the tennis courts are able to be used, which Thompson said is happening.
Thompson noted that for the 2014 season, advertising will take place for a manager/lifeguards at the pool. Council authorized borough administrator Amy Seeley to advertise, when the time is appropriate. Seeley noted that the advertising is done over break, so high school and college students can pick the applications up. "If you get it out in the paper then, they know," Seeley said. She said they're accepted through spring.
