TROY - It's called "Croman Cruisers."

To those unfamiliar with the term, Croman Cruisers is a school-wide fundraiser held each year at W.R. Croman Primary School in Troy.

"The students asked for donations or sponsors as we all walked, ran, jogged, etc.," reports art teacher Lucy Chamberlain.

"Many were sponsored by the number of laps they were able to complete inside the bus circle. The students were all given a new t-shirt to wear and then a helium balloon and snacks after we ran."

Lucy didn't know how much was raised yet, noting it was still being brought in.

She said that the money is used for a variety of purposes.

"The money raised supports the building's field trips and other special activities/guests in the school," she said.

Judging by Lucy's description, it sounded like a fun event.

Lucy said that one teacher took pictures of everyone letting balloons go at the end of kindergarten's walk.

She noted that the t-shirts had all of the sponsors' names on the back.

This year was the third annual Croman Cruisers Laps was the third annual event.
