Woman dies in crash
A woman was killed in a one-vehicle accident on Route 187 in Asylum Township Saturday a mile north of the Terry Township line, said Wysox Fire Chief Brett Keeney.
According to Bradford County Coroner Thomas Carman, Paris Suzanne Ward Chilson, 20, of Wyalusing, was driving a 2003 Jeep Liberty Sport along Route 187 in Asylum Township when the vehicle left the northbound berm, came back onto the roadway, then travelled off of a 25 foot embankment on the southside of the roadway at approximately 4:30 p.m.
Chilson was pronounced dead at the scene by Carman, who listed "blunt force head and neck traumatic injuries" as the cause of death.
Carman listed the manner of death as accidental, and said Chilson, who leaves behind a husband serving in Afghanistan and a child, was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
Routine toxicology studies are being performed and the accident is being reconstructed by the Pennsylvania State Police.
Wysox Fire Department and Wysox EMS and Memorial EMS were at the scene.
