Woman flown after Canton Twp. crash
CANTON TWP. - A woman was flown by medical helicopter to the hospital after being injured in a one-vehicle crash around 2:10 p.m. Thursday on Upper Mountain Road in Canton Township.
Canton Fire Chief J. Scott May said the car in which she was a passenger struck a tree, and she suffered a head injury. The helicopter landed at the baseball field at Canton High School, where a landing zone was set up.
May said he believed that the woman was being flown to Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre. Her name wasn't available.
State police investigated the accident.
May said two males were also in the vehicle, but refused treatment.
At the baseball field, emergency vehicles and responders were in the parking lot of the high school as the woman was prepared to be loaded into the helicopter.
The scene drew some spectators from the borough.
