Woman in critical condition
A Troy woman was listed in critical condition Wednesday night at Robert Packer Hospital as a result of injuries sustained in an accident at 9:10 p.m. Monday on Route 14 in Columbia Township, a hospital spokeswoman said.
State police at Towanda said Ann O'Brian, no age given, of Troy, the driver, had major injuries in the crash, which occurred when she lost control of a 2002 Chevy Malibu while traveling south. Police said it began to slide sideways on the snow-covered road for an unknown reason, slid across the northbound lane, and struck a utility pole at its 9-o'clock position. The vehicle was extensively damaged.
Police said three passengers, a 9-year-old female, a 4-year-old male, and a 2-year-old female, had minor injuries.
Police said EMS personnel transported O'Brian to Troy Hospital, then to Robert Packer Hospital. Police said the three juveniles were treated and released.
