The Wyalusing Dance Team of Nicole Brace, Telysa Westbrook and Gerrica Clouse and their coach Mrs. Shannon O'Connor Dunn of Wyalusing High School will be spending their Thanksgiving in New York City performing in the famous Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

This year marks the 27th consecutive year that the Spirit of America Productions will be providing Macy's with America's most talented dancers. The Dance Team will be featured in two nationally televised performances showcased live on NBC! Spirit of America Dance consists of dancers from select studios and high schools across the country. This year the Wyalusing Dance Team will be representing not only Wyalusing and Bradford County but will be the only Dancers representing Pennsylvania. At exactly 9:00am on Thursday November 22nd, 2012 the 86th Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade will begin and will be featured Live on NBC.

The WVHS Dance Team will join numerous teens in assisting those in need. The Dance Team will be donating children's items in part of a community service based program by Spirit of America Productions in SPREAD THE SPIRIT in supporting the Association to Benefit Children (ABC). The Dance Team will provide donations for presents for the less fortunate children. The Dance Team will also be helping out in the Macy's Believe Champaign with Make-A-Wish Foundation. The Dance Team will be collecting letters from children and their families to Santa in Wyalusing and in Raeford, N.C. (where their proud coach Mrs. Dunn recently acquired an Art Teaching position at McLauchlin Elementary) and from states around the country using the social media Face book. For each letter that the Dance Team delivers to Santa's Mailbox in the Macy's department store in New York City NY, Macy's will donate $1.00 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The Dance Team's goal is to deliver 800 letters addressed to Santa Clause and will donate all the stamps needed. But the Dance Team doesn't stop there. The WVHS Dance Team will also be donating items in a helping hand to help those who have been devastated by hurricane Sandy.

During their NYC visit the WVHS Dance Team will be busy with daily rehearsals but will enjoy down time to experience what New York City has to offer by viewing "Bring it On" a Broadway musical, a Statue of Liberty Harbor Cruise, Shopping in Times Square, ice skating in Rockefeller Center with their Coach, Radio City Hall Christmas Spectacular, a tour of the Empire State Building and will be visiting the famous balloon inflation in Central Park, the night before the parade.

The Dance Moms of WVHS have had their hotel reservation booked since the WVHS Dance Team was invited and approved by the Wyalusing School Board back in August. Melody Brace, Tina Westbrook and Deb Clouse are proud of their daughters and will be in line at 5 am on Thursday morning in NYC to catch a glimpse of their outstanding Dancers performing in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

They will make sure it will be delivered to NYC and to Santa.
