A 20-year-old Wyalusing male was arrested Tuesday for attempting to sexually assault a female in 2008, police said.

The male, Kayden Theodore Sherman, was charged with attempted rape, attempted statutory sexual assault, and attempted indecent assault, police said.

At the time of the incident, Sherman was 15 years old and the female was under 10 years of age, according to the state police at Towanda.

Following his arrest, Sherman was arraigned before Towanda Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark.

Sherman was then sent to the Bradford County jail in lieu of $25,000 bail, police said.

A preliminary hearing for Sherman has tentatively been scheduled for Tuesday in Wysox District Court.
