Not going to vote for Obama
EDITOR: Four years ago then Senator Obama ran for president with absolutely no managerial or executive experience and no other qualifications to be president of the United States. He promised a more open government and gave us a record number of presidential appointed czars and a far more secretive government than in the history of the country. He promised to cut the deficit in half and gave us a far greater deficit than ever before in our history. He promised to cut health care costs and that we wouldn't end up with a single payer (government run) health insurance plan and we got Obamacare which didn't address any of the problems with health care and as a result, health care costs are skyrocketing. To make matters worse, a long line of big companies are threatening to make all their employees part time and drop their insurance coverage which will ultimately end up creating the single payer government run insurance that he promised he wouldn't do. He promised better relations with foreign countries, especially Middle East countries and a lessening of terrorism that would result from that. What he has created is allies that no longer trust the United States, countries in the Middle East that are being taken over by terrorist organizations and a far greater amount of terrorism in the world than ever before. He promised 5 percent unemployment and we've had the worst economic recovery since World War II with 23 million people unemployed or underemployed. He complained about gasoline prices at $1.86 per gallon under the previous administration and hired an energy wonk (Cho) that says we need gasoline prices as high as we can make them to get people to drive less and he has no problems with gasoline prices exceeding $5 per gallon. And he's done everything possible to cause gasoline prices to rise ever higher. He's hired hundreds of thousands of government employees which devalues the dollar and had the fed print hundreds of billions which also devalues the dollar and causes inflation. The list goes on and on. I can only think of three things he's accomplished. He promised to end the war in Iraq which would have happened under any president. He supposedly authorized the killing of Osama Bin Laden and he's made Jimmy Carter look as if he's no longer the worst president we've ever had. He's been divisive, said he would work with Republicans and then told them it was his way or the highway. When critical events are happening he's off on the golf course (a record number of times) or away on vacation. He's never put any plans to paper until his recent 20 page plan and has always let Nancy Pelosi or Harry Reid ram through whatever they wanted. He complains about not getting his programs passed when he had two full years of a Democrat-controlled Congress and didn't need a single Republican vote to get what he might have wanted. The truth is he wasn't qualified to be elected the first time and he still doesn't have the experience to be president of the United States after four years in office. Nope, ain't gonna vote for Obama.

Third rail
EDITOR: In September of this year, Senator Bernie Sanders circulated a letter in the Senate urging that Social Security benefit cuts should not be part of any deficit "Grand Bargain." It was a straight forward letter to President Obama that any loyal Democratic Senator would be proud to sign (see wording of letter by googling "29 Senators Say No to Cuts to Social Security Benefits - What About the Others?") But our senator, Bob Casey, did not sign the letter and won't explain why. Casey is being opposed by Tom Smith in his bid for reelection to a new six year term. Casey, who apparently forgot that he had failed to support Social Security, accuses Smith of trying to wreck Social Security and Medicare. What nerve! Lest we forget, President Obama in his first debate with Mitt Romney, stated that he had similar views to Romney on the future of Social Security. Are Obama and Casey preparing to sell out Social Security just to please Senate Minority Leader Mitch Mc Connell? This vote will be very difficult for many of us on Election Day, but Obama and Casey have touched the third rail of politics, knowingly. If we are to protect Social Security, Obama and Casey must be turned out of office or their lack of loyalty to the New Deal will metastasize to other shaky Democrats. Their replacements will have to be closely observed by all voters and make them aware who they represent. If you would like to call Senator Casey toll free the phone number is 866-802-2833.
