If you have lost your stray pet
EDITOR: The Bradford County Humane Society takes in many strays animals every year.
If you have lost your pet, We prefer that you visit our shelter and present a flyer with a picture of your pet, a general description (height, weight, etc.) and a telephone number where you can be reached should your lost pet be brought into our facility. If you wish you can fax your flyer to (570) 888-8707 or forward a photo through email to email@example.com.
It is imperative that you notify us promptly that your pet is lost because after holding the animal for 48 hours, per law requirement, an animal can be placed in the general population and offered for adoption. We offer a Petfinder list of most animals at our shelter on our website, bradfordchs.petfinder.org. We also have pictures on facebook of animals at our facility, however, the Petfinder site is more current.
We offer a lost/found file at the shelter as one of the many services our shelter provides to the public. Stray animals that are brought into our facility are checked for identification (tags, tattoos, etc) and are scanned for microchips. Microchips are an important tool for identification, as sometimes ID tags are lost or removed from an animal; if a dog slips its collar for instance.
All pet owners should maintain current pictures of their pets.
Please notify us if you should find your pet so that we may keep our files current.
