Freshman Seth Tressler tripled and scored the winning run in the top of the seventh to lead Mansfield to a 5-4 win over Rockhurst in the nightcap of a doubleheader Tuesday at the RussMatt Invitational in Winter Haven, Fla.
Rockhurst held on for a 14-12 win in the opener.
In the nightcap, Mansfield scored three runs in the third with two of them coming on a single by Dan Chevalier, and led 4-2 when Rockhust scored twice in the bottom of the sixth to tie the game. With one out in the top of the seventh Tressler lined a drive off the centerfield fence and used his speed to stretch a double into a triple. The next batter, Mike Hartz, ground out to the left side of the infield with Tressler scoring what proved to be the winning run of the play.

Melissa Baer threw a complete-game to earn her third win of the season in the opener and Aundraa Polk homered and drove in four runs in the nightcap as Mansfield beat Mt. Aloysius 4-2 and SUNY-IT 16-4 at the Snowbird Invitational in Myrtle Beach, SC Tuesday.
Mansfield improves to 6-0 on the year. It is the Mountaineers' best start since winning their first seven games of the 2000 season.
The wins also give Mansfield University head coach Edith Gallagher 298 wins in her 19 seasons at the help of the Mountaineer program. She needs just two more wins to become just the third head coach to reach the 300 win milestone in Mansfield athletics history.

Lehigh sophomore heavyweight Zach Rey outlasted Dominick Russo of Rutgers 2-1 in the tiebreakers to win Lehigh's 196th EIWA Championship, leading the Mountain Hawks as the 106th EIWA Championships wrapped up Sunday at Stabler Arena. After senior Matt Fisk, a Wyalusing graduate, and sophomore Brandon Hatchett lost in finals bouts, Rey was able to defeat Russo for the third time this year, continuing Lehigh's streak of years with at least one individual champion to 11.

Vinnie's Pizza 4-Mt. Pisgah Snack Bar 3
Hayden White wasted no time testing Mt. Pisgah's backup goaltender Brian Wolfe during Week 6 of the Troy Hockey League. Only seven seconds into the game, White tallied a first shot goal to get a winless Vinnie's squad believing. Protection of that lead would fall to Jeremiah Dyer, making his goaltending debut for Vinnie's. White's goal held up until Mt. Pisgah's Mason Jones struck back with a rip that blazed past Dyer at 9:09 of the first period to even the game.
