SULLIVAN COUNTY HUNTER/TRAPPER EDUCATION PROGRAMS:

To be held for youth ages 11 & up will hold classes this year, they will be: Aug. 27-28. Thursday and Friday from 6-9:30 p.m.; Saturday from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. All classes will be held at the North Mountain Sportsman's Club, Muncy Valley. Participants must attend all three sessions of the class to complete course. Upon successful course completion, a HTE card will be issued. Individuals wishing to enroll may register on-line at www.pgc.state.pa.us (click on Education & Hunter Trapper Education). If you have problems registering please call 570-928-8941 and ask for Rick Smith. Registration is limited to 45 per class. The club is located on Shipman Hill Rd., Sullivan County. SPORTS CONDITIONING CLINIC:

Will be a seven week program designed by Aaron Roy at the YMCA through August 6. Registration is $40 for member and $50 for non members. This is for ages 14-18 that helps increase strength and athleticism, along with lowering the risk for injury. SILVER SNEAKERS YOGA STRETCH:

Is a 40 to 60 minute class held at the YMCA. The class offers exercises to improve joint range of movement, core strength, posture and breathing efficiency while promoting stress reduction and a sense of well-being.

SECOND ANNUAL RYAN'S HOPE MEMORIAL SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT:

To be held on August 14 and 15 at the Wheel Inn between Roaring Branch and Ralston. Trophies for first three teams with all money going to charity. Team sponsorship fee is $50 while its $10 per player, with up to 10 players per team. At least three females must be in play at all times. VALLEY YOUTH SOCCER:

Will continue online soccer registration for youth born Aug. 1, 1996 through July 31, 2007. To register, please go online to our website, valleyyouthsoccer.org, click on the registration link and follow the instructions. If you have any questions or have problems registering, you may send an email to valleyyouth@yahoo.com, or contact Harry at 888-0353 or Mike at 882-9978. You will notice that you are now registering late and are subject to the late fees and availability of roster openings. While it is our goal for all age appropriate children to play soccer, we cannot guarantee a roster spot, if the age group roster is full.

BRADFORD COUNTY CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE TASK FORCE 2010 CHILDREN'S HOUSE SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT:

Will be Aug. 21-22 at the Monoeton softball field. This Co-Ed Tournament is $200 per team or $20 per individual with a due date of August 1 for the registration. Mail entry fee and application to Katina Sites, Children's House Coordinator, P.O. Box 335, Towanda, PA, 18848. Checks should be made payable to Bradford County Child Sexual Abuse Task Force. SCOTT COLE/LYLE WISEL MEMORIAL GOLF TOURNAMENT:

Plans are being made for the 11th annual Scott Cole/Lye Wisel Memorial Golf Tournament at Corey Creek. The event will be held on Aug. 1 and is sponsored by the Sylvania Lions Club and the Troy Lions Club. The golf tournament is a four person scramble, with shot gun start at 1:30 p.m. The entry fee will provide for 18 holes of golf, a golf cart, lunch, soda, water, dinner (chicken barbecue) and prizes. Entry forms may be picked up at CF May Insurance, C&N Bank, First Citizens, Tygart Beverage and Krise Tire Center. Proceeds from the golf tournament will help fund new equipment for the Troy Fire Department. For more information call 570-297-3612 or stop at the firehouse any Monday night. YMCA FLAG FOOTBALL LEAGUE:

Fall is just around the corner. Don't let the fall temperatures keep you inside and inactive. The Bradford County Branch YMCA will start the Flag Football League in mid-August and run through November. Do you like football? Sunday mornings 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. starting August 15th the YMCA will offer a Flag Football league. This league is for adults 18 years and older. Get a team together for a Sunday morning of fun! The cost is $240 per team if paid by July 31, if paid after July 31 the cost is $300 per team. Each team will play 10 regular season games and playoffs will follow. BELLEFONTE BASEBALL:

(Central Pa.) will be hosting two wood bat 14U late summer baseball tournaments August 6-8, 2010. This tournament will be a three game round robin tournament with a championship round for the qualifying teams, the entry fee will be $400.00. THE 9TH ANNUAL CHAMPIONSHIP YOUTH FOOTBALL CAMP:

For boys from 4th grade through 8th grade. The camp is Aug. 9 - Aug. 13 at Athens Alumni Stadium from 4:45 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. each day. The cost for the camp is $50. The camp is sponsored by Eby Insurance. Camp Brochures can be picked up at Athens High School or by calling Coach Jack Young @ 265-1072.

WYALUSING SPORTS PHYSICALS:

Due to construction and the lack of parking around the front of the High School building, we will be moving the site of the fall sports physicals to the Training Room instead of the nurse's office. Physicals will be offered on the following dates in the Training Room: Thursday, August 5 a.m. Students are asked to enter the High School parking lot (near the cemetary), park in the rear of the building by the Layman Gymnasium entrance and go to the Training Room through the side door near the new locker room. 7TH ANNUAL TOWANDA RIVERFEST 5K RUN/WALK:

will be held on Saturday, Aug. 28 at 9 a.m. There are 8 age categories including 10 and under; 11 to 14; 15 to 19; 20 to 29; 30 to 39; 40 to 49; 50 to 59; and 60 plus. Medals and ribbons will be awarded to the top 3 finishers in each age group and participant ribbons to each walker. Pre-event registration forms may be obtained by going online to www.towandaborough.org. and following the prompts to the 5K event. Pre-event registration of $15.00 is due by August 20, 2010. Registration on the day of the event will be held at the staging area across from the Towanda Boro Police Station from 8-8:45 a.m. and the fee will be $18. The first 80 entrants will receive 2010 Towanda Riverfest 5K t-shirts. Participants will receive discounted midway rides and will be eligible for the 5K raffle. LEHIGH WRESTLING CAMP:

From Aug. 2 - 4 at Benton High School. The camp will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. for commuters only. 2010 NYS CHAMPIONS BAD APPLES GOLD 14U:

THE ANNUAL RULES INTERPRETATION:

Meeting for the Northern Tier Chapter Football Officials will be in roon 225, at Troy High School, on Wednesday, Aug.4, at 7:00 p.m. This meeting is mandatory for officials, and coach(s) from each school, unless attendance has been, or will be, at another site. BOWLING:

Looking for 6-8 teams to fill a Friday night 8:30 p.m. mixed league. We will start after Labor Day and run for 28 weeks. The teams are two men and two women. THE QUARTERSTIX FAST PITCH TRAVEL SOFTBALL TEAM:

Will be hosting 16U and 18U tryouts for the upcoming 2011 season. The 16U tryouts will be held August 9 10 from 6-8 p.m. and August 14-15 from 9-11 a.m. The 18U Tryouts will be held August 11-12 from 6-8 p.m. and August 14-15 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.. All tryouts will be held at the Union Endicott High school(1200 Main St., Endicott, NY 13760) Modified field right next to the Varsity Baseball field behind the school. YMCA'S FIRST ANNUAL ADVENTURE TRIATHLON:

Will be held on August 21 at Mt. Pisgah State Park. The race will include 10.5 mile mountain bike, 3.5 mile kayak and 4.5 mile run. Teams are welcome.
