Area girls perform well at invite
WYALUSING - It was a strong day for area girls at the annual Wyalusing Lasagna Invitational on Friday night.
Sayre's Elyse Skerpon won the 300 hurdles in 46.01.
In the 100 Montrose's Myra Lattimore won in 13.02, while in the 200 Riley Conahan of Meyers won in 27.11.
Allison Lewis of Montrose won the 400 in 1:01.22. In the 800 Melissa Cruz of Holy Redeemer won in 2:21.50. Erika Huffman of Wyalusing was second in 2:22.95.
Redeemer's Rachel Sowinski won the 1600 with a meet record time of 5:11.29. Casey Norton of Troy was second, followed by Huffman.
Norton won the 3200 in 11:18.28 and in the 100 hurdles Quieterriua of Meyers won in 15.57, with Skerpon taking second.
Abington Heights won the 400 relay in 51.37 and in the 1600 relay Montrose won in 4:10.12. Wyalusing took third in the event.
Holy Rdeemer won the 3200 relay in 9:30.41, setting a meet record.
Montrose's Madelyn Pasteka won the high jump at 5-feet, followed by Towanda's Hailey Innocenzo at 5-feet.
Montgomery's Kiana Gough won the pole vault at 10-feet and in the long jump Loyalsock's Kati Piger won at 16-feet, 4-inches with Sarah Ostroski taking third.
Scranton Prep's Elizabeth Pattera won the triple jump at 35-feet, 2 1/4-inches, followed by Wyalusing's Savannah Schools.
Western Wayne's Diana Hassan won the shot put with a meet record of 38-feet, 6-inches and in the discus Fallyn Boich of Holy Redeemer won with a meet record of 128-feet, 8-inches.
Tunkhannock's Gabby Alguire won the javelin with a throw of 135-feet, 4-inches.
In the team standings Abington Heights won at 86.5 with Wyalusing the top NTL team at 36.5. Sayre was 10th at 28.5.
