ATHENS - The Athens Junior Baseball team beat Southern Tioga 12-2 on Thursday to earn a spot in the District 15 title game.

Athens is at Potter McKean tonight. Potter McKean needs one win to claim the title, while Athens would have to win twice.

Luke Neman started on the mound for Athens and Cody Jennings, Matt Collins, Nick Hudock and Justin Reagan also all pitched in the game.

Joel Whitteker started for Southern Tioga and Kipper Hillson and Derrick Harbst also pitched.

Daniel Joyce had a double and scored a run for Athens and Marc Felt had a hit, while Newman and Jennings scored runs.

Collins had two doubles and scored three runs and Hudock had two hits, with a double, and he scored four runs.

Reagan scored three runs and had a hit and Gavin Stein added two hits.

Carl Dinger had a hit and scored a run for Southern Tioga and Branden Hill had a hit.

Logan Adams had a hit and scored a run and Hillson had a hit.

RTL 7, Sayre 6

RTL forced a deciding game in the tournament with the victory on Thursday.

The two teams meet again Saturday at 6 p.m. in Athens.

Kyle Warner had four hits, with a home run and a double and he scored three runs for RTL.

Chris McClellon had a hit and scored a run and Will Martin had three hits, with a double, and scored a run.

Shane Forhey had a hit and scored a run and Hailey Farr had two hits and scored a run.

Trent Nickeson had a hit and scored a run and Matt McClelland had a hit.

Dave Baltausatis started for RTL.

Jon Cron started for Sayre and Jeams Esposito had a hit and scored three runs and Connor Harbst had a hit.

Nate Sweet had three hits, with a double, and a run scored and Quinn Hanafin had a hit.

Nate Garrity had a hit and Josh Hendrick and Gage Carnake had hits.

Troy advanced to the title game with the win on Thursday.

Troy will take on Tunkhannock on Saturday. Troy must win twice to claim the title, while Tunkhannock wins with a victory.

Troy's Morgan Gentile struck out 11 against Susco East.

Lindsey Steele had two hits and scored two runs and Gentile had two hits, with a double, while Sadie Beers added a hit in the game.
