Athens stays unbeaten in NTL East play

ATHENS - The Wildcats defeated Sayre 66-52 on Monday to stay unbeaten in NTL East play.

A win on Wednesday at Towanda would secure the league title for the Wildcats.

Athens got 19 points from Garrett Clark and Mark Wright had 10 points in the game.

Luke Wright had nine points and Craig Moore and Ray McDoughan had seven points each.

Adam McCauley and Troy Stivason both had five points for Athens and Jon Canfield had four points.

Mark Wright had eight boards four assists and a steal, Luke Wright had seven boards and four assists, McCauley had four assists and Craig Moore had seven boards.

McDougan and Clark each finished with a steal.

Sayre got 15 points from Nate Williams and Trey Hildebrandt had 13 in the game.

Jared Donovan had nine points for Sayre, while Alex Lyons had six points and Riley Card finished with five points.

Tyler Williams had three points and John Shaw finished with one for Sayre.

Sayre won the JV game 68-67 in double overtime. Troy Stivason had 17 and Dan Moyer had 12 for Athens.

The Wildcats are at Towanda on Wednesday.

Mansfield 61, Towanda 55

MANSFIELD - The Tigers had four players score in double figures as they picked up the win on Monday.

Taylor Hillson led the way with 17 points and Marquis Delgado had 15 points, while Reece Correll had 11 and Alec Simpson finished with 10 points.

Sam Rotella had four points for Mansfield and Taylor Swingle and Bo Burleigh each finished with two points.

Hillson had six boards, three assists and two steals and Correll had five rebounds.

Delgado finished with eight boards and two steals, Simpson had seven rebounds and three steals and Swingle had seven rebounds.

Towanda had a 14-6 lead after one quarter and led 38-35 entering the fourth quarter, before Mansfield scored 26 fourth-quarter points in the win.

Towanda was led by Casey Huff with 20 points and Mason Roof finished with 16 points in the game.

Noah Huff had nine points and Garrett Mosier and Robbie Abrams each had three points, while Nolyn Chaffee and David Rodenhizer had two points each.

Mansfield won the JV game 59-48. Burleigh had 20 points for Mansfield and Tristan James had 20, while Dylan Bates finished with 12 and Noah Wheeler had 10 for Towanda.

Towanda hosts Athens on Wednesday and Mansfield is at Williamson.

Wellsboro 59,

Galeton 37

WELLSBORO - The Green Hornets outscored Galeton 17-9 in the second quarter to take a 31-18 lead into the half on their way to the victory.

Dylan Prough had a double-double to lead Wellsboro with 16 points and 12 boards and Jordan Jackson finished with 13 points in the win.

Matt Reese, Joey Doganiero and Mike Pietripola all had seven points, with Reese adding four steals, four assists and four boards.

Chase Barnes and Brandon Pierce had four points each in the game and Sam Mitchell finished with one point for Wellsboro.

Galeton was led by Logan Smith with 14 points and Nate Jeffries had nine points while Dakota Shadle added eight points.

Bob Williams had four points for Galeton and Dan Hatch added two points.

Wellsboro won the JV game 36-18.

Wellsboro is at CV on Wednesday.

Canton 62, NEB 33

Eddie Larcom had a triple double, and was just one steal from a quadruple double, in the win Monday.

The Warriors got 18 points from Eddie Larcom and 14 from Ryan Ball in the victory.

Emmett Watson had nine points for Canton and Tim Bassett and Wes Moore each finished with eight points, while Jesse Lattimer had five points.

Larcom added 10 assists, 11 rebounds and nine steals and Watson had six assists and five steals, while Moore had 14 rebounds.

Jake Hottle led Northeast Bradford with 13 and Todd Bonin had eight, while Davis Young finished with six points.

Mason Merrill had four points in the game and Shawn Hakes and Caleb Gerrity each finished with one point.

The Panthers got seven boards and four steals from Hakes and Bonin had seven boards while Young had five rebounds and six assists.

Canton won the JV game.

Northeast Bradford hosts Wyalusing on Wednesday.

North Penn 60, CV 55

The Panthers inched closer to a district berth with the win on Monday.

North Penn now needs wins in two of their next four games in order to secure a playoff spot.

Jimmy Price led the Panthers with 26 points and Dan Prouty had 17 points in the game. Jason DeHaven finished with six points and Kaynen Arrendondo had six points for the Panthers.

Colin Craig had three points and Brad Brubaker finished with one point for North Penn.

Cowanesque Valley was led by Gavin Howe with 20 points and Justin Post had 17 in the game. Mitchell Dent had 11 points for CV.

Ladon Pierce finished with three points for the Indians and Luke Plummer and Brandon Whitsell both had two points.

Sullivan County 74, Bucktail 45

The Griffins held Bucktail to 10 first half points, shutting them out in the second quarter, on their way to the victory.

Sullivan County got 21 points from Sharif Welton and 14 from Zach Meyer, while Dalton Molyneux had a double-double with 13 points and 10 boards as they improved to 15-3.

Derek Wilkins had six points and John Trallo finished with five points, while Calen Wylie had four points in the game.

Kelby Mullen also had four points and Bob Polcrack had three points, while Conner Wylie and Adam Szklanka had two points.

Mullern had seven assists, Welton had six boards and six assists and Wilkins had six rebounds and four assists.

Sullivan County won the JV game 40-36 and Szklanka had 17.

The Griffins are at St. John Neumann on Wednesday.

Wyalusing 79, Troy 51

The Rams got 32 points from Aaron Johnson in the victory on Monday.

Dominic Ciccolini had 11 points in the game and Jeremy Allyn and Kye Novak each had nine points while Cody Pickett had eight points and Anthony Benninger finished with seven points.

Mitchell Pickett finished with two points in the game and Brandon Davis had one points.

Evan Polly led Troy with 17 and Chad Cole had 12 points, while Jed Wright had 10 points.

Brandon Mattocks finished with six points for Troy and Quinten Wandell, Brandon Mattocks and Thomas Swain had two points each.

Wyalusing won the JV game.

Troy is at Canton on Wednesday.
