Bucktail fell to Hughesville in the District IV semi-finals 3-0 Tuesday.

Their doubles teams lost along with their second singles.

"The number two singles was close and a great match," Bucktail coach Daniel Heiser said. "Abby Ransom played extremely well and really gave it everything she had. She came up just short. It was an excellent match, although we lost, it was very close and the girls played well. I guess sometimes you just come up short. But what we preach to the girls is we win as a team and lose as a team. It is no one person's fault and no one person caused a loss. We take it as a team. Alison and I are extremely proud of these girls and everything they did this season!"

Their first and third singles players were winning at the time it was stopped. Hughesville ultimately lost to Loyalsock in the championship match.

Bucktail will be competing in the District IV Doubles Championship on Saturday.
