TOWANDA - It took three extra holes but Dan Chernosky and Kevin King were able to claim the Towanda Country Club Member/Guest title Sunday.

But it wasn't easy as the duo of Troy Gordon and Evan Clarke made a strong run Sunday to force the playoff.

Coming out of Day 1 Chernosky and King led the field with a 66 but Gordon and Clarke were right behind with a 67.

Gordon and Clarke made up the deficit in the front nine Sunday, shooting a 31. Thanks to birdies on 10, 11, 14 and 15 Gordon and Clarke took a four stroke lead into the final three holes.

But that's when Chernosky and King made their move, scoring birdies on 17 and 18 while Gordon and Clarke double bogeyed 17 to head into a playoff.

Teeing off number one both teams edged the cup on birdie putts but ultimately came away with pars. On the Par 3 second hole Chernosky looked to end it with a tee shot that stuck four feet from the pin.

However, he missed the birdie putt to the right and Gordon/Clarke had new life.

On the third hole Chernosky once again stuck it close to the pin, this time off his approach shot. And this time he didn't miss the birdie to secure the title for him and King.

Both teams shot 131 for the two days while the team of Jordan Wollenberg and John Secor came in third with a 140.

Matt Lee and Sam Mihelich won the second flight with a 139 thanks to a 67 on Sunday.

Mike Fox and Steve Moyer won the third flight with a 146, edging out Thomas Thompson III and Davey Packard (147).

Dakota Roof and Evan Perry won the fourth flight with a 148 by shooting a 69 on the second day.

Nate Bennett and Tim Bennett won the fifth flight with a 166.
