Cutters get back on winning track
The four-game losing streak is over. The Crosscutters produce their best offense of the season with a 10-4 win over the Jamestown Jammers.
Jamestown got on the board in the bottom of the first. Dan Collins hit a three-run home run to left field the give the Jammers a 3-0 lead.
Zach Green answered the call in the second. The Crosscutters third baseman hit a home run to left field for his third of the season.
Williamsport took the lead for good in the 4th. With the bases loaded, Angelo Mora drilled a 2-2 pitch out of the park to left field to give the Cutters a 5-3 lead.
Mora did more damage in the sixth. He hit a line drive single to left to score Justin Parr and advanced to third on a throwing error by Jeff Roy. Andrew Knapp was the next batter and he hit an RBI sacrifice fly to right field to score Mora.
The Cutters scored three runs on four consecutive hits in the eighth. Mora doubled to right, and stole third in the process. Knapp drove in Mora on an RBI single to center field. Green doubled to left field to bring home Knapp and Jiandido Tromp immediately copied Green with a double to left to score Green.
The Cutters improve to 2-4. They return to Bowman Field to start a three-game home series with the Batavia Muckdogs Sunday at 5:05 P.M.
