The Crosscutters used a 5-run second inning to put the Spikes away early Saturday night at Susquehanna Bank Park at Historic Bowman Field in an 8-4 win over State College.

Matt Shortall led off the inning with his first professional home run, a solo shot to left field. After a Spikes error kept the inning alive, Rhys Hoskins cleared the bases with his first professional home run - a grand slam making it 5-0 Crosscutters. Hoskins finished the night a triple shy of the cycle going 3 for 4 with five RBI.

Yan Hernandez would add his third homer of the year leading off the fifth inning.
