The Cowanesque Valley girls' tennis team improved to 15-3 with a victory over Galeton on Friday.

In second singles Hayley Painter won 6-0, 6-1 over Kassi Brown and Marisa Kump won 6-0, 6-0 over Kelly Murray at third singles.

In fourth singles Courtney Schauer won 6-0, 6-0 over April Howell and at fifth singles McKenzie Sweet won 6-4, 6-3 over Cheyanne James.

Painter and Blair Williams beat Andi Leach and Brown 6-7 (3-7), 7-5, 10-4 in first doubles and Kump and Schauer won 6-0, 6-2 over Murray and Howell.

Galeton's win was at first singles as Leach beat Williams 6-3, 6-4.

In exhibition matches Deb Bieser of CV won 6-1 over Morgan Petrenscik and CV's Lauren Johnson and Jessica Prutsman won 6-1 over Petrenscik and Howell.

Bucktail swept a doubleheader at Wellsboro on Friday.

In the first match Bucktail took the first four singles spots as Maria Morgan beat Ashley Evans 6-2, 6-1, Meridith Blessard beat Taylor Russell 6-1, 6-2, Abby Ransom beat Kiana Acorn 6-1, 6-0 and Camy Rossell beat Brianna Quimby 6-4, 6-0.

Wellsboro's Raisa Rogers won 6-3, 6-2 over Kaetha Gentegel at fifth singles.

In doubles Wellsboro's Brittany Redell and Kaylie Seely won 6-2, 6-4 over Alaina Tripp and Marissa Coleman and Wellsboro's Bailey Corse and Shyann Forman beat Maray Fecteau and Mindy Goodling 7-5, 3-6, 11-9.

In the next match Morgan beat Evans 6-1, 6-4, Belssard beat Russell 6-0, 6-0, Ransom beat Acorn 6-3, 6-2 and Rossell beat Quimby 6-4, 6-0.

Gentegel beat Redell 6-4, 6-4 at fifth singles.

In doubles Evans and Russell beat Fecteau and Coleman 6-4, 6-3 and Acorn and Rogers beat Tripp and Goodling 6-1, 6-2.
