Katie Fitzpatrick and Alyssa DeRichie each recorded their first collegiate double-doubles to lead Mansfield to a 75-58 win over Cheyney in a PSAC East contest Saturday afternoon.

The win snapped a 10-game losing skid and served as a measure of revenge for the Mountaineers after dropped a 52-45 decision to the Wolves at Decker Gymnasium earlier this season.

Mansfield trailed 22-17 with just under seven minutes remaining in the first half before the Mountaineers went on an 18-8 run to take a 35-30 halftime advantage.

Cheyney countered with a 8-3 run to start the second half, tying the game at 38-38 just over two minutes into the second half.

Mansfield answered that challenge with one of its best second half's of the season.

With the scored tied at 40-40, Jenna Matter's layup keyed a 8-0 run by the Mountaineers giving Mansfield a 48-40 lead on a DeRichie layup at the 12:31 mark.

Cheyney closed to 51-46 with just under 10 minutes to play but could pull no closer as Mansfield closed out the game with a 24-8 record to seal the victory.

Mansfield hit 47% of its shots in the game, including 55% in the second half, while holding Cheyney to just 29.1% from the floor. The Mountaineers also held a commanding 43-33 advantage on the boards.

Fitzpatrick recorded her first collegiate double-double with a game-high 18 points while pulling down 10 rebounds. She connected on 6-9 shots from the floor and hit 6-8 free throws. DeRitchie also posted her first collegiate double-double with 12 points and career-best 10 rebounds. The sophomore also recorded a career-best five steals with dishing out four assists. Jena Matter added 17 points as all nine Mountaineers who played scored in the game.

Kyra Hines-Allen topped Cheyney with 15 points while Nicole Tyndle added 13 points.

Mansfield travels to Bloomsburg on Wednesday.
