Former Mansfield University first baseman Brian Milliman (Groton, N.Y./Lansing) has signed a professional baseball contract to play with the Alpine Cowboys of the Pecos Independent League.

The Pecos League is an independent professional baseball league with teams located throughout New Mexico, West Texas and Southern Colorado.

The Pecos League regular season begins in early May and concludes in late July.

The Alpine Cowboys are based in Alpine, Texas, in the Big Bend region of West Texas. The Cowboys play their home games at historic Kokernot Field, a 1,200 seat stone and wrought-iron replica of Chicago's Wrigley Field that dates from 1948.

Milliman made 84 starts in three seasons with the Mountaineers where he accumulated 63 hits, 38 runs and 37 RBIs.

At first base, Milliman posted a .985 career field percentage. He was also an MU Presidential Scholar-Athlete.
