The Galeton girls fell to St. John Neumann in a regular season finale on Saturday that will go a long way toward determining district playoff seeding.

Neumann outscored Galeton 16-6 in the fourth to break open a close game.

Andi Leach led Galeton with 11 and Latascia Shadle had eight, while Mataya McPherson had seven and McKayla Cochran had three.

Meghan Trenholm and Emily Sholder led Neumann with 16 points each.

Neumann won the JV game 37-28 with Megan Helminak leading them with eight.

North Rome 42, Ross Corners 26

Cristen Mosier had 19 and Olivia Noone had 10 for the Eagles in the victory on Saturday.

Sarah Malkemes had six for North Rome and Larissa Altieri had three, while Taylor Swain and Emily Lykens had two points each.

Mosier had a double-double adding 18 rebounds and four assists, with three steals, while Malkemes had three steals and three boards and Noone had five boards, two assists, two blocks and a steal.

Swain had eight boards and two blocks and Lykens and CJ Miller each had two assists.

Meghan Murphy led Ross Corners with nine.

The girls have a pair of playoff games on Tuesday, taking on Central Baptist Christan Academy at Triboro Christian Academy at 3:30 p.m. in the NYPenn League playoffs and then taking on the Rochester Homeschoolers at 7 p.m. at Epiphany in the NSCAA Girls' League.


Ross Corners 56, North Rome 46

Nick Stanton had 20, but it wasn't enough in a loss on Saturday.

Nathan Helmuth had nine points and Ben Haefka had six, while Dylan Wilcox and Johnny Mosier had four and Nate Gray had three points.

Stanton had five boards, five steals, three blocks and three assists and Haefka had five boards, three assists, three steals and two blocks.

Gray had five boards and three assists and Helumuth had three boards, while Mosier had two steals.

North Rome plays in the NYPenn League playoffs at 4 p.m. at Ross Corners against Twin Tiers on Tuesday.
