BLOOMSBURG - The Griffins trailed 24-23 at the half, but outscored Bloomsburg 13-7 in the third on their way to the victory.

Derek Wilkins led the Griffins with 18 and Conner Wylie had 13 points, while Kelby Mullen had 11.

Lucas Hatton had four for the Griffins and Bob Polcrack and Zach Meyer each had three points.

Mullen had seven boards and four assists, Wylie had seven rebounds and six assists and Wilkins had six rebounds.

Tyler Vincent led Bloomsburg with 15 and Zach Mrozek had 13.

"Lucas (Hatton) and Kelby (Mullen) were outstanding defensively in the second half on Mrozek," Sullivan County coach Glenn Vaughan said. "They did an outstanding job on him."

Bloomsburg won the JV game 43-23 with Adam Szklanka leading the Griffins with eight.

The Griffins host Benton on Friday.

Waverly 56, Odessa-Montour 40

The Wolverines outscored Odessa 18-9 in the first quarter on their way to avenging a season-opening season loss.

"We are a much different team than we were the first night out," Waverly coach Lou Judson said. "We've come a long ways since that night as a team we have gotten a lot better. We executed our game defensively tonight, we had a 25-30 point lead with five minutes left. I'm very proud of how we played. It's our seventh win in a row and we are playing well right now, hopefully we continue to win."

Waverly got 20 points from Patric Bronson and Chris Raupers had 18 in the game.

Tim Sutton had seven for the Wolverines and Cody Marchese had four points, while Dylan Perry finished with three points and Dylan Wright and Zach Cooney each had two points.

Cooney had five boards, Bronson had eight rebounds and Marchese had five steals and sseven assists.

Waverly won the JV game 68-28 with Mack Brown and Alex Volte each leading the Wolverines with 11.

Waverly hosts Candor on Friday.

Damascus 59, North Rome 56

The Eagles got 23 from Nick Stanton and 12 from Ben Haefka while Nate Gray had 11 in the loss.

Riley Gorseline had six for North Rome and Johnny Mosier finished with four points.

Five players hit for double figures for Damascus led by Cole Fredo with 14.

Stanton had two steals, two blocks and two assists and four rebounds, while Haefka had three steals and 13 rebounds. Gray had seven boards and Nathan Helmuth had four assists, while Gorseline had three steals.

Notre Dame 63, Edison 29

Darius Garvin had 24 points, including 18 in the third quarter, in the win.

"He had 18 in the third quarter and didn't play in the fourth quarter, that's pretty impressive," Notre Dame coach Bill Hopkins said.

Eric Brennan had eight for Notre Dame and Derek Marshall, Jonas McCaig and Nate Niles all had six in the game.

Devonte Gaskins and Hunter Thomas each finished with four points for Notre Dame and Brian Hale had three points, while Sean Brown had two points.

Marshall had seven rebounds, two steals and four assists and Garvin had six boards, four steals and two assists.

The JV game between the two teams is tonight.

Notre Dame is at Tioga on Friday.

Newark Valley 45, Tioga 27

Dakota Skinner had nine for the Tigers in the loss and John Dougherty finished with six points.

Zach Worthington had five for Tioga and Dustin Sherman had three, while Dalton Wojcuich and Dan Graves each finished with two points.

Tioga won the JV game 39-27. Adam Zweirlein had nine for the Tigers in the win.
