Hall helps leads Tigers in win

The SUNY Cobleskill men's swimming and diving team closed out the first semester by posting a 116-105 victory over Cazenovia College on Saturday afternoon in the Wildcats' home waters in Cazenovia, N.Y. The win was the Fighting Tigers first victory in dual meets or invitational competition of the season.
The meet's outcome was hanging in the balance heading into the final event of the day when the Fighting Tiger 200 Yard Freestyle Relay of junior Sam Adamoschek, sophomore Matt Burud, sophomore Travis Hall, Athens, Pa., Athens Area High School, and freshman Josh Cotugno, went to work as the talented quartet posted a season best time of 1:43.78 to win the event by .83 of a second to secure the victory. The same foursome opened the day's festivities with a victory in the 200 Yard Medley Relay in a time of 2:00.21.
Individually Matt Burud captured the 50 Yard Butterfly in 27.45 seconds and the 50 Yard Breaststroke in 32.66 seconds while Josh Cotugno was a three-time winner taking the 100 Yard Medley in 1:03.16, the 50 Yard Medley Relay with a time of 28.13 seconds and the 100 Backstroke in a time of 1:01.38. Sophomore Mohammed Al-Samrrai, was also a double winner for the Fighting Tigers taking the 500 Yard Freestyle in 6:21.02 and the 1000 Yard Freestyle in 13:15.16 with Travis Hall winning individually for Cobleskill in the 200 Yard Freestyle posting a time of 2:19.06.
The Fighting Tigers will return to action after the winter break traveling to the College of St. Elizabeth Invitational in Morristown, N.J. on Saturday Jan. 23 with the first event slated to start at 1 p.m.
