Mansfield University head baseball coach Harry Hillson was recently appointed as a member of the NCAA Division II Baseball Championship Committee. Hillson was recommended to the committee by the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) office.

The purpose of the Championship Committee is to develop policies and procedures governing the administration and conduct of the NCAA Division II Baseball Championship.

Hillson, who enters his 27th season at the helm of the Mountaineer baseball program, has served on the NCAA Division II Regional Baseball Selection Committee, the ABCA Rawlings NCAA Division II All-American Committee, and was the ABCA Division II Regional Committee Chairman for five years.

Under his tutelage, Hillson's teams have made three NCAA Championship appearances and eight NCAA Regional appearances. Hillson's 1992 team made it all the way to the NCAA National Championship where the Mountaineers finished as the runner-up.
