Wellsboro held off a second half Liberty rally to stay in the NTL West girls' basketball race Friday, winning 46-44.

Wellsboro jumped out early, taking an 11-4 first quarter lead. They added to it by the half, leading 26-18.

Liberty rallied, out scoring Wellsboro 26-20 in the second half but couldn't quite get over the hump.

Raina Rogers led the Hornets with 14 points while Mikayla Palmer-Bacon added 11. Hannah Zuchowski netted eight, Kiana Acorn scored five, Andrea Dean added four with Mackenzie Marple and Kim Acorn scoring two a piece.

Brooke Scott-Knect led Liberty with 20 points while Ashley Graham added 11. Desiree McGovern and Nicole Black had five points each, Kelsey Harer scored two with Megan Hawk adding one.

Williamson 52, Galeton 45

The Warriors hung to down Galeton in NTL West girls' basketball action Friday.

Williamson used a big second quarter to take a 30-18 lead at the half. Galeton rallied in the fourth quarter, though, out scoring Williamson 16-10 but came up short.

Lori Horton led the Warriors with a double-double of 16 points and 12 boards while Cheyenne Jones added 13 points and nine rebounds.

Kim Daugherty had 12 points, three steals and four assists while McKenna Greenwalt had five points, Jamie Cook scored four while Amber Fitzmartin added two.

Mansfield 51, North Penn 37

The Tigers jumped out to a 14-8 first quarter lead, then held off the Panthers the rest of the way for the NTL West girls' basketball win Friday.

Jackie Hillson had 17 points and eight boards to lead the Tigers while Emily James netted 15. Molly Wood was also in double figures with 10 points, Simone Lichty scored four, Maddie York had three while Felicia Bolt scored two.

Whitney Holdren led North Penn with 12 points while Caela Parker and Jen Vlagic had six points each. Kaitlyn Gavverick added five, Chelsea Moran scored three while Alex Mendez and Rebecca Toothaker scored two each. Kelsey Smith rounded out the scoring with a point.

North Penn won the JV game.

Mansfield will host Troy Monday.
