Junior high wrestlers do well at Milton

share thisLocal junior high wrestlers competed at Milton recently with several performing well.
Towanda was the highest local team with 228 points for third overall. Canton was fifth with 147.5 points, Mansfield was ninth with 95.5 points, Wyalusing was 10th with 94 points and Sayre was 12th with 38 points.
The top local performer was Towanda's Tristan Decker, who earned Outstanding Wrestlers honors by winning the 130 pound weight class with a 7-2 decision over Kevin Wesolowski of Pittston.
Other Champions are Towanda's Terrick Vargason, who won the 100 pound weight class with a 12-2 major decision over Brandon McCrae of Pittston, Cody Claupein of Towanda at 145 pounds with a 4-3 decision over Shikellamy's John Rohrbach, Mansfield's Harvey Wood at 165 pounds with a 5-0 decision over Shikellamy's Kayleb Shirk and James Gaitings of Towanda, who won the 250 pound class with a fall over Andrew Wilshusen of Pittston in 39 seconds.
Runners up included Towanda's Jared Lines at 75 pounds, Canton's Robert Bonnell at 80 pounds, Towanda's Nick Sutton at 85 pounds, Mansfield's Kyle Wood at 90 pounds, Canton's Daniel Killian at 95 pounds and John Bowman at 105 pounds, Towanda's Ridge Sollick at 110 pounds and Canton's Garrett Wesneski at 155 pounds.
Winning the consolation finals was Mansfield's Justin Weed at 75 pounds while teammate Nick Olson won the 80 consolation. Canton's Trevor Route took third at 85 pounds, Wyalusing's Quentin Hugo took third at 105 pounds with teammate Logan Wiles taking third at 115 pounds. At 210 pounds Towanda's Cley Sutton took third.
Fourth place finishers include Sayre's Reese Booth at 95 pounds, Wyalusing's Justin Haley at 100 pounds, Mansfield's Kenny Creamer at 115 pounds, Sayre's Cody Naylor at 145 pounds and Towanda's Dakotah Manning at 165 pounds.
Fifth place finishers include Wyalusing's Austin Shaffer at 90 pounds, Towanda's Matt Bartholomew at 95 pounds, Wyalusing's Tim Ace at 130 pounds, Towanda's Cole Sexton at 155 pounds and Canton's Connor Route at 185 pounds.
Sixth place finishers include Jake Maynard of Towanda at 105 pounds, Brandon Davis of Wyalusing at 122 pounds, Jacob Butcher of Canton at 130 pounds and Chase Pepper of Canton at 145 pounds.
Seventh place finishers include Matt Schultz of Towanda at 90 pounds, Lucas Murphy of Sayre at 110 pounds, Justin Sheets of Towanda at 122 pounds, Justin Griffith of Wyalusing at 138 pounds and Dylan Otis of Wyalusing at 185 pounds.
