Katie Fitzpatrick has been selected to Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East Freshman of the Week honors after helping the Mansfield University women's basketball team to a 1-1 mark in PSAC crossover action this weekend.

Fitzpatrick scored 14 points and pulled down seven boards in a 77-68 win against Clarion University Friday night. The freshman hit 6-of-12 from the floor, including a trey, and recorded five steals and four assists in the game.

On Saturday, Fitzpatrick netted a game-high 20 points as the Mountaineers were edged by Lock Haven in a 75-69 loss. Fitzpatrick was 8-of-19 from the field and added four rebounds, three assists and three steals. Her 20 points marked the second-highest total of her career after a 24-point performance in a win over Slippery Rock on Dec. 2.

Fitzpatrick ranks second on the team in scoring at 10.5 points per game and third in rebounding at 5.9 boards a game. She leads the Mountaineers with 36 steals and assists.

Mansfield hosts East Stroudsburg University Wednesday, Jan. 16 at Decker Gymnasium.
