LAPORTE - Up by four late in the fourth quarter, Towanda left the door open for Bloomsburg to send it into overtime.

They didn't make that mistake again.

"Anytime you can win a district game there is a lot of great experiences," Towanda coach Ryan Napp said about his team's 52-45 overtime win against Bloomsburg in the opening round of Class AA District IV boys' action Tuesday.

Towanda led 14-9 after first quarter while the Panthers cut it to 23-19 at the half. The Black Knights extended the lead to 33-26 at the end of the third and led by four points late as Noah Huff hit two free throws.

Bloomsburg's Zach Marozek then hit a three with seven seconds left to make it a one point game. Noah Huff hit two more free throws to make it a three point game.

"He was just so clutch," Napp said about Noah Huff.

Marozek then hit a three to send the game into overtime.

In overtime Marozek continued with a two more points to put Bloom up but that's as far as they got. With 30 seconds to go, Casey Huff broke free for a three to put Towanda up by one.

"They put a guy on him the whole game," Napp said about Casey Huff. "I think he got a little bit frustrated. The winner at the end of the game just took care of the tempo and wasn't afraid to knock down that shot."

Mason Roof then went 4-for-4 from the free throw line to sink it for the Knights.

"Mason is just clutch," Napp said. "He has a will to win. He hit those free throws and that was big for us."

The Knights had four players in double-figures, led by Roof and David Rodenhizer's 13 points. Roof added eight boards and four steals while Rodenhizer had two boards.

"Dave Rodenhizer played great the entire game," Napp remarked. "He hit a three in the first quarter, four points in the second quarter, then hit a three in the third and a three in the fourth. He probably didn't get enough minutes, I should have given him more. He hit big shots in every quarter."

Casey Huff had 12 points and three boards while Noah Huff added 10 points, three boards and three steals.

Joel Miller added four points and two boards while Robbie Abrams grabbed three rebounds.

Marozek led the Panthers with 20 points.

"We had a four point lead when he first three," Napp said. "We had to make a decision on the second one on whether to foul or let him bring it up. We let him bring it up and he hit a big shot. We never want to have a close game but as long as you win it's a lot fun."

Quinn Butrick added 12 for Bloomsburg while John Clingerman netted seven. Tyler Vincent had four while Nolan Cotter scored two.

Towanda will now face Athens at a time and place to be named later.
