Despite Towanda's 75-0 win over Sayre in NTL wrestling action Monday, Black Knight coach Bill Sexton felt several of his wrestlers got good experience.

"There were some competitive bouts in spite of the score," Sexton said. "We just happen to win all of them."

The key match of the night was between undefeated Kyle Post of Sayre and Towanda's Justin Hunsinger at 160 pounds. After a 0-0 first period Hunsinger scored a reversal in the second period to go up 2-0. In the third Post added an escape to make it 2-1 but Hunsinger ultimately wrestled his way to a 2-1 win.

"It was a good match for both win or lose," remarked Sexton.

At 120 pounds Towanda's Nick Secule scored a 4-2 decision over Sayre's Damon Whipple thanks to a late reversal.

Then at 132 pounds Knight Steven Yates won 7-1 in double overtime over Lucas Murphy. Yates led 1-0 when he gave up a point with a locked hands penalty to send the match into overtime. After the first overtime neither of them scored but in the second scored three points from a near fall off the top and scored a reversal and a penalty point to make it a 7-1 final.

"He's got things together the last couple of matches," Sexton said. "He went 4-1 Saturday and followed it up with an overtime win."

And at 170 pounds Towanda's Cole Sexton pinned Sayre's James Harbst in 5:01. After a 0-0 first period Sexton got three points off a near fall in the second, then scored a reversal in the third that led to the fall.

In the other matches at 285 Towanda's Talon Curry pinned Sayre's Cody Naylor in 2:44 while at 113 Black Knight Kyle Blascak scored a fall over Sayre's Gavin Lundy-McCutcheon in 3:44. At 138 Towanda's Breycin Fulmer earned a fall over Sayre's Logan Platt in 2:38 and at 145 Justin Sheets pinned Sayre's Matthew Frantz in 1:13.

The Knights also picked up forfeits from Logan Terry (220), Jared Lines (106), Terrick Vargason (126), Dayton Wickwire (152), Jacob Maynard (182) and Dakoatah Manning (195).

The Black Knights are back in action on Thursday when they travel to Wellsboro.
