Late run sends West Chester past Mansfield
West Chester used a 21-7 run over the final eight minutes of the game to beat Mansfield 92-79 in a PSAC East game Wednesday night.
Mansfield, which trailed 52-43 at halftime, used a torrid rally midway through the second half to take a 72-71 lead on a jumper by Joe Bell with 8:30 to play.
But the Mountaineers had little energy left and couldn't hold off the Golden Rams down the stretch.
Bell scored a game and season-high 30 points to lead Mansfield with Cory Henneghan adding 14 points and Chuck Harper 11.
Corey Blake and Jon Breeden led West Chester with 21 points each.
The loss dropped Mansfield to 7-12 overall and 4-11 in PSAC play, dropping the Mountaineers to three games behind West Chester (10-9, 7-8 PSAC) for fourth place in the PSAC East.
Mansfield travels to Shippensburg on Saturday.
