Lawrenceville goes 3-0 on final day to take Cinderella World Series
Lawrenceville went 3-0 to win the Cinderella 16u World Series over the weekend.
In their first game they beat Southport 15-0 as winning pitcher Laura Burrell had four strikeouts and three walks.
Rachel Strange went 4-for-4 with a home run, two doubles and four runs, Kiwi Burrell went 3-for-3 with a double, walk and four runs, Kait Sawyer went 3-for-4 with a double and two runs and Brianna Ransom was 1-for-2.
In the second game Lawrenceville defeated Elkland 11-1 behind a two strikeout performance from Kiwi Burrell.
Emily Strange went 3-for-4 with two runs while Kiwi Burrell had a 2-run home run and scored three times.
Sawyer went 3-for-4 with a run scored, Danielle Mihalik went 3-for-4 with two runs and Ransom was 3-for-3 with a run scored.
In the championship game Lawrenceville went 3-1.
Kiwi Burrell earned the win, striking out three and went 2-for-3 at the plate with a solo home run. Emily Strange was 2-for-4 with a run scored while Ransom went 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Mihalik and Calli Cody also had hits. Mihalik had an RBI and Cody scored a run.
"Every girl played defense like every coach dreams of," Lawrenceville coach Vandelinder said. "They couldn't have done a better job."
