Liberty swept Williamson 7-0 in NTL girls' tennis action Friday.

In first singles Jourdyn Buckheit defeated Anna Copp 6-0, 6-0 while in second singles Savannah Alexyn beat Kim Wilbur 6-0, 6-0.

In third singles Katey McCloskey topped Danielle Bolt 6-1, 6-0 while at fourth singles Lauren Briggs edged out Jenn Uhler 7-5, 7-6 (9-7).

In fifth singles Savannah Dunlap defeated Kathryn Brown 6-0, 6-0.

In doubles action Buckheit and Alexyn won over Wilbur and Bolt 6-0, 6-0 while McCloskey and Briggs defeated Copp and Uhler 6-1, 6-3.

Liberty improves to 2-1 while Williamson falls to 0-1.

Galeton 4, Wellsboro 3

In a marathon match the Tigers outlasted the Hornets in girls' tennis action Friday.

The match was tied 3-3 with first doubles left when Galeton's duo of Andi Leach and Kassi Brown defeated Wellsboro's duo of Raisa Rogers and Brianna Quimby 6-0, 6-1 to clinch the win.

In first singles Leach held off Rogers 6-1, 6-4 while at second singles Quimby outlasted Brown 6-2, 4-6, 7-5 in a two-and-a-half-hour match.

At third singles Galeton's Kate McInroy defeated Wellsboro's Bailey Corse 6-4, 6-4 while at fourth singles Tiger Cassie Kiselyk topped Wellsboro's Shyann Foreman 7-6 (7-5), 6-2.

In fifth singles Wellsboro's Maddy Clemens kept her team's hopes alive with a 6-0, 6-4 win over Grace Owfson.

In second doubles Corse and Foreman beat McInroy and Kiselyk 6-2, 6-3.

In exhibition action Galeton's Grace Owfson defeated Wellsboro's Faith Kenney 6-0, then beat Hornet Taylor Crawford 4-1.
