HORSEHEADS, N.Y. - A number of area softball players took to the field at the ASA New York State Championships at Holding Point over the weekend.

A pair of Northeast Bradford teammates squared off as Chelsie Souto and the Rebels took on MaKaylah Holbert and the Diamond Dusters.

Souto got the best of Holbert in the first at-bat, retiring her teammate, but Holbert singled in her next at bat and the Dusters went on to a 4-2 win.

Towanda's Alaina Wickwire and the STPS Ponies faces Notre Dame's Alivia Clark and Tioga's Dani Barto and the Conklin Raiders Elite in an afternoon game.

Clark scored the go-ahead run in the final inning and the Raiders tacked on three more runs in the inning to get a 4-0 victory.

Both Clark and Wickwire had hits in the game.
