Katie Fitzpatrick led Mansfield with a game-high 20 points while Jena Matter recorded a double-double, but it wouldn't be enough as Lock Haven pulled out a 75-69 win Saturday night at Decker Gymnasium.

Fitzpatrick hit eight field goals, including a 3-pointer, and was a perfect 3-of-3 from the free throw line on the way to her second highest career point total. The freshman also added four boards and three steals and assists.

Matter picked up her second double-double of the season with 14 points and 10 rebounds while added five assists. For the second straight game Shaleta Heyward hit a career-high four 3-pointers on her way to 16 points for the night.

Lock Haven opened the game with a trey from Hilliard, but the Mounties put together a six-point lead over the first six minutes of the game.

After exchanging leads, Mansfield built a seven-point advantage capped with a Heyward 3-pointer with 7:26 remaining. The Eagles took advantage of opportunities at the free throw line and closed their deficit to 39-37 at the half.

The Mountaineers increased their lead to 12 points in the opening five minutes of the second half. However, Lock Haven scored 10 unanswered points in just over three minutes to close back within two points at 51-49.

Mansfield held a five-point advantage with just under four minutes to play, but LHU took their first lead of the second half on an Adrianna Berry jumper with 1:05 remaining.

Lock Haven hit five free throws in the final minute to ice the game.

The loss is the Mountaineers second of the season to Lock Haven. Mansfield fell 82-44 in their season opener at Thomas Fieldhouse.
