Mansfield girls too much for Canton

The Tigers got 17 points from Tanya Dewalt as they out-scored the Canton Warriors 21-4 in the opening quarter on their way to a 54-38 victory.
Mansfield got 10 points from Taryn Rumsey, and Vereena Reed and Jackie Hilson each had eight points, along with Chaneisha Morgan.
Laura Brennan finished with two points in the victory.
Canton got 12 points from Jada Smith and Rachel Shanley had 10 points in the loss. Shanley had eight rebounds and Smith had seven boards.
Brittany Colton had five points and Rachel Holmes had three points, while Rebecca Machmer added two points and Sarah Hanft had a point.
Mansfield won the junior varsity game.
"Mansfield is just a very good team. They played excellent defense and offense," Canton coach Scott Driscoll said. "We are a maturing team. I think we will be competitive in the games we play."
Watkins Glen 45, Waverly 35
Waverly - The Senecas out-scored the Wolverines 16-8 in the first quarter to get the win Tuesday.
Waverly was led by Kelly Lyon and Sabrina Bowman with 10 points each and Meghan Sutryk finished with seven points in the loss.
Mikayla Bean had six points and Mattie Van de Wall finished with two points for the Wolverines.
Taylor Chaffee led Watkins Glen with 24 points.
Waverly won the junior varsity game 47-15 with Emily Myers leading the way with 14 points.
Waverly is at Notre Dame on Friday.
Blue Ridge 63, NEB 39
The Panthers got 17 points from Kelsey Carlsen, but it wasn't enough in Tuesday's loss.
Hailey Phillips had nine points and 11 rebounds, along with six steals for the Panthers and Tayor Keefe had seven points and 12 boards.
Alycia Parks finished with four points and Nicole Emick had two points to go with 14 rebounds.
Kaitchen Dearborne led Blue Ridge with 21 points and 13 rebounds.
Blue Ridge won the junior varsity game 39-22.
Northeast Bradford is at Liberty today.
Ithaca 52, Athens 30
The Wildcats hung close for the first quarter, but Ithaca scored 20 second-quarter points on their way to the victory.
Athens got 11 points from Taylor Clark, who added eight rebounds, and Danielle Stopper had eight points, while Brittany Mink added six points and six boards.
Mackenzie Vargason had three points and Andrea Pelachick had two points in the loss.
Ithaca won the junior varsity game.
Athens hosts Blue Ridge on Thursday.
