Notre Dame 73,

Watkins Glen 51

In a matchup of unbeatens the Crusaders played nearly flawless basketball to get the win.

Notre Dame committed just five turnovers with 18 assists in the game, they went 12-for-13 at the foul line and they knocked down nine threes in the game.

"I think we played really well defensively," Notre Dame coach Bill Hopkins said. "We were up 36-27 at the half and a nine-point lead became six early in the third quarter and it seemed like in a heartbeat it went up to 16 points. The three-point shooting, especially in the first half, kind of kept them at bay.

"Darius (Garvin) had three threes in the first half and Jonas (McCaig) hit a couple big threes in the fourth quarter. The thing I marvel at with this particular squad is they pass the ball so well. They see the floor so well and they know who are shooters are. We have got some perimeter weapons and if they don't fall for us outside, we have some opportunities to get inside to a player like Tom Agan, or Nate Niles or Eric Brennan."

Garvin led Notre Dame with 21 points, seven boards, five steals and three assists and McCaig had 17 and four steals.

Agan had 17 for Notre Dame and Hunter Thomas, Niles and Derek Marshall all had six, with Thomas adding five assists.

Notre Dame won the JV game 56-54 against the division leading Senecas. Patrick Brown hit a three with one second left to win it and Derrick Starks led Notre Dame with 19.

The Crusaders are at Newark Valley on Friday.

South Williamsport 56, Sullivan County 51, OT

Riley Hengler hit a leaning 12 footer off the glass with a second left to force overtime as South came away with the win on Tuesday.

The Griffins were down one with 15 seconds left when Bob Polcrack hit a three to put them up to. The Griffins went to the line in the final seconds and missed the front end of a one-and-one and that's when Hengler, who had a game-high 21, hit his big shot.

"We missed the front end of a one-and-one and he ran down and hit a clutch shot," Sullivan County coach Glenn Vaughan said. "It was a good, physical effort, unfortunately we turned the ball over 23 times and went 3-for-12 at the foul line and didn't make intelligent decisions down the stretch. You do that and you will lose a lot of close basketball games."

Sullivan got a double-double from Conner Wylie with 12 points and 10 boards and Adam Szklanka had 14 points, six boards and three steals in the game.

Sean Flannery had 12, on four threes, and Polcrack had six in the loss.
