Mansfield University standout Chuck Harper was named the PSAC East Player of the week for his outstanding performance during the week ending Feb. 24.

The announcement was made today by the PSAC office.

Harper led the Mountaineers to a 2-0 week with wins over Bloomsburg and Millersville to clinch a spot in the upcoming PSAC playoffs.

The senior guard averaged 20.0 points and 7.0 rebounds over the two-game span while connecting on 52 percent of his shots from the floor. He also dished out six assists and recorded three steals.

In a 73-66 win at Bloomsburg, Harper recorded a double-double by scoring a game-high 19 points and pulling down 11 rebounds. With Mansfield holding a 69-66 lead with just under a minute to play, Harper scored four points and pulled down two rebounds as Mansfield held on for a 73-66 win.

Harper scored a game-high 21 points in a 82-75 overtime win against Millersville to clinch a PSAC playoff spot for the Mountaineers.

For the season, Harper is averaging 12.2 points and 5.9 rebounds per game.

Mansfield will host Kutztown in the final game of the regular season this Wednesday.
