Mansfield University freshman guard Megan Touhey, a Maine-Endwell graduate, has been named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East Division Freshman of the Week for her outstanding play ending the week of Nov. 28.

In Mansfield's only game of the week, a 68-58 win over Houghton, Touhey helped the Mountaineers rally back from an early deficit with a season-high 15 points to go along with three assists, three steals and a rebound. Touhey connected on 6-of-10 shots from the field, including 3-of-4 on three-pointers to help Mansfield improve to 3-1 on the season.

Touhey has started all four games this season for the Mountaineers where she is averaging 9.5 points and 3.3 rebounds per game. She is also shooting a team-best 42.9 percent on 3-point attempts (6-14) with nine assists, eight steals and a blocked shot.

It marks the second consecutive week a Mountaineer has been named the PSAC East Freshman of the Week. Jena Matter earned the honor last week.

Mansfield will host Lock Haven starting at 5:30 p.m. this Wednesday in Decker Gymnasium.
