Mansfield scored three unanswered goals to beat Wellsboro 3-2 in NTL girl's soccer action Friday.

The Green Hornets jumped out early as Sarah Ingerick scored off an Elise Becker assist, followed by Sarah Kramer scoring off a Kim Acorn helper to put them up 2-0 after the first 15 minutes of play.

Mansfield's Jenny Loher netted a penalty kick before the half to cut it to 2-1 at the break.

Tiger Molly Wood would score back to back goals in the second half.

Wood first scored unassisted at the 61st minute, followed by another at the 63rd minute off a Loher assist to secure the win.

"It was an aggressive game," Mansfield coach Corey Johnson said. "Mansfield started out flat, Wellsboro was on top of things and came out to play. The second half Mansfield woke up and got more aggressive."

The win puts Mansfield into district play.

The Tigers out shot Wellsboro 20-4 while Wellsboro had an edge in corner kicks 3-2.

Kasey Powlison made two saves for Mansfield while Meghan Bodine had 10 saves for the Hornets.
