Katie McFadden and Cherie Walters each turned in first-place times, but the Mountaineers came up just short against Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) rival Lock Haven with a final score of 110-80 Friday night at Decker Pool.

McFadden placed first in the 500 freestyle with a personal best time of 5:38.19. She also came away with a second-place finish in the 1,000 freestyle at 11:32.83.

Walters took first in a thrilling 100 breaststroke with her mark of 1:14.78. The freshman held off two Haven swimmers who finished right behind her at 1:15.08 and 1:17.24.

Sophomore Susan Learn earned points for the Mountaineers with a second place finish in the 100 backstroke with her time of 1:12.40. Freshman Anastasia Joswick made a significant improvement to her 1,000 freestyle time with a mark of 12:09.98 which was good for third.

Mansfield is back in action on Saturday, Nov. 3 when the team travels to Edinboro to take on the Fighting Scots along with Bloomsburg and Kutztown.
