Milton jumped out early and kept on scoring to send Towanda to the loser's bracket in Regional Legion baseball action Sunday.

Both teams scored one run in the first inning, but Milton added two in the second and three in the third to go up 6-1. Towanda would cut into the lead in the fifth, scoring two, but in the bottom of the sixth Milton added two more to extend the lead back to five runs.

In the eighth inning Towanda once again tried to claw back, scoring two runs but in the bottom half of the inning Milton tacked on three more to secure the win.

Zach Place was 2-for-3 with one run and an RBI for Towanda while Austin Markle and Nick Place both went 2-for-4. Nick Place added a run scored and an RBI. Mason Roof was 2-for-5 with two runs scored and one RBI.

Nick Place and Zach Place also had doubles.

Brandon Dinelli, Zack Ripic, Noah Huff and Sawyer Strope also had hits for Towanda.

Dinelli and Ripic had an RBI each while Strope scored a run.

Ripic took the loss, starting and going three innings to strike out four while allowing four hits, four walks and three earned runs. Strope went 4 1/3-innings in relief, striking out seven while allowing six walks, two hits and four earned runs. Tristan James finished out the last 2/3-inning, striking out two.

Jordan Bordner led Milton, going 2-for-4 with two runs scored and RBI. Damian Moyer got the win, going seven innings to strike out four while allowing nine hits, three walks and three earned runs.

Towanda will face Greater Pittston today at noon.
