Head coach Diane Monkiewicz and the Mansfield University field hockey program have announced its schedule for the upcoming 2014 season which features nine home contests including the second night field hockey game in program history.

The Mountaineers open the 2014 campaign on Sept. 6 in New Haven, Conn. with the DoubleTree Classic hosted by Southern Connecticut State. Mansfield faces off against host Southern Connecticut before playing Saint Michael's the following day.

Mansfield opens its Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) schedule on Sept. 9 when it travels to East Stroudsburg University.

The Mounties open its second year of play on the turf of Karl Van Norman Field by hosting West Chester to start a three-game home stand. On Sept. 20 the Golden Bears of Kutztown, guided by former Mountaineer field hockey standout Marci (Lippert) Scheuing, come to town as part of Mansfield's Family and Friends Weekend.

Mansfield ends its three-game home stand by playing defending PSAC Champion Millersville under the lights at Van Norman Field for just the second time in program history. The game is part of Mansfield's Homecoming celebration and 1890s weekend.

The Mountaineers will also play home contests against IUP (Oct. 8), East Stroudsburg (Oct. 14), Shippensburg (Oct. 18), Mercyhurst (Oct. 28) and Seton Hill (Nov. 5). Mansfield concludes its regular season at home on Nov. 8 against Limestone College (S.C.) for Senior Day/Family and Friends Day.

Monkiewicz enters her 17th season at the helm of the Mountaineer field hockey program.
