Mounties fall short against Lock Haven, 67-56

Mallory Hafer led four Mountaineers in double figures with 17 points, but Mansfield could never overcome an early deficit in a 67-56 loss to Lock Haven in a PSAC crossover game Wednesday evening at Thomas Fieldhouse.
Mansfield was held scoreless over the first six minutes of the game until Mallory Moore cut Lock Haven's lead to 10-2 at the 13:57 mark of the first half. Lock Haven extended the lead to 31-16 at halftime.
Mansfield held a 41-35 rebounding advantage but turned the ball over 24 times and shot just 28 percent from the floor.
Hafer connected on five 3-pointers as part of her 17 points while Moore had 14 points and a game-high eight rebounds. Nicole Pender scored 12 points and dished out seven assists while sophomore Emma Lacey added a career-best 11 points.
Casi Donelan scored a game-high 18 points and Krisetn Kudrick added 16 points to lead Lock Haven (3-2).
Mansfield falls to 2-3 and will host Mercyhurst on Monday in the Mountaineer's first home game of the season.
Robinson earns Athlete of the Month honors
Misericordia University athletic standout Jesse Robinson, of Tioga Central, has been named the MU Wendy's Athlete of the Month for November.
Robinson, a sophomore, led the Misericordia women's basketball team to a 3-2 record in the month.
She leads the team in scoring (16.2 ppg), field goal percentage (51.1 percent), steals (3.6 spg) and assists (3.4 apg) and is second on the team in rebounding (6.4 rpg).
