MANSFIELD - Jessica Swingle scored and Kristie Rollman had 12 saves but Mansfield would fall just short in dropping a 2-1 decision to Bloomsburg in PSAC field hockey Saturday night at Karl Van Norman Field.

The game was the first night home game in field hockey history.

Bloomsburg scored the game's first goal when Felicia Domenici scored her first goal of the season off an assist from Nikki Gattone twelve minutes into the game.

Leading 1-0 at halftime, the Huskies added what would prove to be the winning goal two minutes into the second half with Angie DeBellis scored off an assist by Candice Smith.

Swingle cut the lead to 2-1 with her first goal of the season, playing a deflected ball five yards out and putting it into the goal in the 51st minute.

But despite crisp ball movement, Mansfield would not be able to muster another shot on goal.

Bloomsburg held a 24-7 shot advantage but Mansfield took nine penalty corners to the Huskies seven.

Rollman had 12 saves while Bloomsburg's Megan Eppley was credited with four stops.

Mansfield host Slippery Rock this Wednesday.
