Head women's track & field coach Nadine Faustin-Parker recently spoke with a group of 5- to 12-year-olds as part of Sports Week at the Mansfield YMCA camp.

Faustin-Parker, a three-time Olympian, spoke about her experiences as an athlete and gave advice about having the right attitude in competition. She stressed giving your best at all times and understanding that someone is going to win and someone is going to lose, but regardless of the outcome, giving 100 percent effort is all that matters.

After speaking with the campers, Parker led a series of exercises involving hurdling over cones, jumping, racing, and getting down in the start position.

Faustin-Parker enters her second season at the helm of the Mountaineer women's track & field program.
