Head coach Diane Monkiewicz has announced the addition of seven student-athletes to the Mansfield University field hockey program for the upcoming 2013 season.

Laura Lawson - GK (Narvon, Pa./Twin Valley)

Two-year starter in goal at Twin Valley … totaled 15 shutouts in 27 games as a senior while allowing just 16 goals recorded seven shutouts in 19 games with 19 goals allowed as a junior named team captain senior season helped team to a Berks County Championship in 2012 and made the elite eight in the Pennsylvania State tournament named All-State Academic Field Hockey Team and National Academic Squad in 2012.

Coach's take: "Lots of natural talent and plays with an aggressive style."

Sabrina Shrawder - Def/Mid (Danville, Pa./Danville)

Four-year starter for the Danville field hockey squad dished out 17 assists and scored two goals in career named team captain voted team MVP for defense in 2012 and midfield in 2011 member of National Honor Society.

Coach's take: "Brings extensive playing experience and is a very versatile player."

Katelynn Pfeil - Def (Damascus, Pa./Honesdale)

Three-year varsity letter winner at Honesdale set a program record for career defensive saves with 70 set a single-season record for defensive saves with 45 in 2012 recorded 25 defensive saves in 2011 selected 1st team All-Star and team MVP in 2012 named Academic All-American member of District II silver medalist team four-year honor roll and National Honor Society member.

Coach's take: "Solid deep defender with a fearless attitude."

Avery Yoder - Def (Hamburg, Pa./Hamburg)

Coach's take: "Smart player who will see playing time as a freshman. Will help to solidify our defense."

Haley Stevens - Fwd (Mount Joy, Pa./Donegal)

Heart Award recipient in 2012, 2010 and 2009 LL League Scholarship recipient member of Keystone State championships team in 2012 and 2011.

Coach's take: "Moves well to goal and has a good game sense."

Claire Swink - Fwd/Mid (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown East)

Four-year starter at Downingtown East recorded a shutout in first appearance as a goalie 5-1 starting record as a goalie in 2011 member of playoff teams from 2009-12 2009-12 academic honors 2012 distinguished academic honors.

Coach's take: "Solid, all-around player."

Emily Willard - Fwd (Cazenovia, N.Y./Cazenovia)

Two-year varsity starter at Cazenovia totaled 28 career goals and 10 assists second-highest scorer junior season and third-highest scorer senior season started all 42 games in high school career named second team All-League senior season and Honorable Mention All-League junior season … member of state, regional, section three and league championship team junior year undefeated regular season, league and section three champions senior year 84 consecutive league wins member of honor roll.
