Brenae Edwards and Jess Scordino finished 2nd and 3rd in the 5000 meters to earn All-PSAC honors at the PSAC Men's and Women's Outdoor Track Championships at Millersville University Friday afternoon.

It was a thrilling finishing the second-longest race of the championship with Edwards being edged out by just over a half of a second in the grueling event by Shippensburg's Katrina Spratford who finished with a time of 16:54.27 to Edwards mark of 16:54.83. Scordino trailed the two leaders by a few steps finishing at 17:01.74.

The second and third place finishes gave the Mansfield women nine points, good for 9th place overall in team scoring at the end of the second day of competition.

Mansfield sprinters Olivia Lopes and Latimere Campbell both had outstanding days advancing through the preliminaries to qualify for the 100 and 200 championships tomorrow.

A freshman, Campbell become just the first Mountaineer to break the 10.9 FAT time in the 100 with a mark of 10.86, the seventh fastest time of the day with the top eight times moving into tomorrow's finals.

Campbell was fifth fastest in the 200 meters at 21.79.

Lopes, who finished third in the 100 as a freshman last season, had the second fastest 100 of the afternoon with a time of 12.13. She also qualified in the 200 with the third-fastest time of 25.27.

The men's 4x800 relay team of Jake Portock, Jesse Jones, Alex Bock and Alex Beard earned the first team points for the men's team finishing 8th with a time of 8:17.77.

Mike Robinson was one of eight runners to qualify for tomorrow championship in the 800 meters. The junior finished fifth overall with a time of 1:52.70.
