Mansfield University freshman Rachael Tylock earned a silver medal in the 10,000 meter racewalk at the 2012 NACAC (North America, Central America and Caribbean) Under 23 Track and Field Championships at Paralympic Track Stadium in Guanajuato, Mexico Friday night. Representing Team USA, Tylock finished with a time of 53:16.59 to earn a second place finish at the championships.

The NACAC U23 Championships are held every two years and feature 32 different countries throughout North America, Central America and the Caribbean. Following its inaugural season in 2000, the NACAC U23 Championships have served the region's athletes making the transition from youth athletics to the next level.

"This isn't the end, but just the beginning" said Tylock. "It was worth every tempo, every distance, every pushup, every interval. It's worth it. I'm already excited to get back to training to just keep improving."

Tylock was one of just two American athletes under the age of 23 to be selected for the NACAC Championships in her event. She was selected based on her times on the national list in both the 20k and 5k events.
