The Mansfield University women's soccer team was picked to finish 15th out of 17 teams in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) coaches' poll. The poll, which is voted on by the women's soccer head coaches in the conference, was announced today by the PSAC office.

West Chester, who is ranked seventh in the national preseason poll, takes the top spot in the poll receiving nine first place votes. Defending PSAC champion Slippery Rock was selected second after receiving seven first place votes.

California, Gannon and Kutztown round out the top five in the poll followed by Edinboro, East Stroudsburg, IUP, Shippensburg and Bloomsburg. IUP received the final first place vote.

Lock Haven was selected 11th in front of Millersville, Mercyhurst, Clarion and Mansfield. Conference newcomers Seton Hill and Pitt-Johnstown round out the poll at 16 and 17.

Mansfield returns 12 players from last year's team including eight starters.

The Mountaineers open the 2013 season on Thursday, Sept. 5 when they travel to West Chester for a PSAC match-up.
